Lavera’s Basis Sensitiv facial cleansing milk is apparently called ‘two in one’ because it cleans the face and removes makeup at the same time.
Uhmm… *smirk* …okay – interesting. 😉 Isn’t that what most cleansing concontions do? Are we now to call every bar of soap a 2 in1 bar, because it cleans both dirt and makeup? By the way, isn’t makeup just another (voluntary added) layer of dirt, kind of – sort of? Ah well… what’s in a name… I’ll be nice now.
Packaging
Lavera’s cleansing milk comes in a large tube. I very much appreciate the top being attached on one side. That way you can’t loose it, or drop it.
Texture
The texture is smooth and very creamy. Because of the white color, it’s as if I’m using some sort of delicious dairy product on my face! Absolutely lovely though, no complaints here.
Scent
This organic face cleanser has the same scent as Lavera’s Basis Sensitiv moisturizing cream and hand cream. I’ve also tried a shampoo of the same line, which had the same Basis Sensitiv fragrance. It’s a sweet, powdery scent, reminding me of a candy shop. That’s very personal though, it may bring out something totally different in you.

What I like about the Lavera 2 in 1 Cleansing Milk
- The creamy white texture.
- I like the scent, but it’s so specific that I feel the urge to use something else as well. It’s yummie and interesting, but at the same time I got a little tired of this particular fragrance after a while.
- The tube is quite practical in use.
What I like less about the Lavera 2 in 1 Cleansing Milk
At first, I had the impression my skin was more dry when I used this organic face cleanser. It may or may not have been due to my skin and not to the cleanser at all, by which I mean any cleanser at that time may have seemed to have this effect. After I got an extra moisturizer, my skin seemed to do better. Or perhaps it was related to the alcohol – it is the fourth ingredient in this cleansing milk after all. Not sure.
Also, as much as this cleanser is supposed to wash away both dirt and makeup, I’m having some trouble with the makeup part of that promise. I often use Dr Hauschka eyeshadow, sometimes alone and sometimes together with a natural mascara. After a cleanse with this milk followed by a rinse with warm water, the eyeshadow is not gone at all. I’ve even tried adding a second layer of cleansing milk to the eyelids and rinsing again, which only helped a little.
Final thoughts & other organic face cleansers
This cleansing milk is very natural and doesn’t contain any nasty stuff, in my opinion. Obviously, allergies to natural ingredients are possible, so a patch test is always a good idea.
Lavera has made a lovely natural face cleanser with many organic ingredients and a very typical, sweet – almost suave – fragrance. You definitely need to get a whiff of it to decide for yourself. To me, the full Basis Sensitiv line would give me an overdose of this scent.
I’ve used up my tube, even though I was kind of over it after a week or two and I wasn’t too impressed with the makeup removing performance either.
However, I would like to put it this way: If I would have fallen madly in love with this ‘Basis Sensitiv’ fragrance (which I can imagine some people do, because it’s a quite particular scent) – it could have become my go-to organic face cleanser. It is friendly priced, has a really nice feel to it and I would even have forgiven it for not working so well on the eye makeup.
