Annmarie Gianni Reviews: “Sun Love”, a Natural Organic Sunscreen

Annmarie Gianni Reviews: Sun Love, a natural organic sunscreen for your face.

If you’re short on time, you can find the summary of my review right below.
That’s just a few lines long.

For the full review, just keep on reading past the summary. 🙂

In summary:

A real gem of a natural organic sunscreen. The most pleasant sunscreen I’ve ever used on my face. Being used to dealing with certain downsides of wearing sunscreen, I was truly amazed by Sun Love. Stickiness, blatant white coloring, difficult application, hard to remove completely at the end of the day… None of these I encountered when using Sun Love. Spreading the sunscreen on is a pleasure instead of a chore, due to the velvety consistency. It comes off easily with a ‘normal’ facial cleaning. Sun Love smells delicious, it’s all natural and mostly organic, it gives my skin a beautiful glow (yeey, not white!) it smells amazing, and and all those things would almost make me forget how it obviously does what it’s made for: protecting from sunburn. Sun Love is definitely a keeper.

Packaging

The Sun Love natural organic sunscreen mini size comes in a small round jar (transparent) with a screw top lid. Sun Love full size is a 2.5 oz simple plastic bottle with a click-cap – or whatever those are called, the caps with one side attached to the lid, so you can’t drop or loose them.

Texture

Sun Love is creamy and has a somewhat transparent light tan color. It isn’t too dark for my ivory skin, I just make sure to spread it out well and blend the neckline. It would works for many darker skin tones as well. The finish is very silky and not completely matte, but definitely not sticky and shiny like regular sunscreen. More like a healthy, natural skin glow. Sun Love works as a foundation and a sunscreen in one for me – I don’t usually wear foundation on a daily bases, but while wearing Sun Love I was asked how my skin looked so flawless. 🙂

Will probably mark white/light clothing, I haven’t experimented with any stains, but I’d bet they come off in a regular washing or without much trouble.

Scent

The scent of a sunscreen isn’t exactly a priority for me – I’d rather have one that works well, looks nice and is natural, than stressing the fragrance. If it smells good, that’s a bonus. If it smells amazing (as does Annmarie Gianni’s Sun Love), well, that’s just a wonderful surprise. The scent must have something to do with the lavender and the cocoa absolute, although the exact fragrance is not easy to pinpoint.

What I like about Annmarie Gianni’s “Sun Love”

  • Not in order of importance, the scent is just dazzling – light but delicious, very summery and a bit suave.
  • How it makes my complexion look better (!) instead of shiny, white, or caked.
  • It delivers on its promise as a natural organic sunscreen for face, being made with natural and organic ingredients, and providing good protection for my sunburn-prone skin.

What I like less about Annmarie Gianni’s “Sun Love”

I don’t have any downsides to mention. It is a natural organic sunscreen for face use, and too pricey to lather arms or other body parts (Not that I haven’t fantasized about it!) but definitely a top quality organic skin care product to protect your facial canvas from wrinkles and sun damage.

Final Thoughts & More Organic Skin Care Reviews

Sun Love is delicious and will not do your body any harm at all (*), but this magical potion is a natural organic sunscreen for face use, simply because it is almost like a higher-end anti-aging product, posing as a sunscreen. An exquisite blend of herbal infused extracts and precious oils make Sun Love a treat for your skin, as well as a protector. And not in the least an instant beautifier – I don’t know what I love most, its fabulous scent, UV protection, natural botanical formulation or the light foundation effect!

(*) Unless you have a rare allergy to a natural ingredient, of course.

Pricetag: around US $39.95
