Natural Moisturizers To The Rescue!
These are some of the very best natural moisturizers. They will come to the rescue of skin prone to sensitivity. We’ll take a closer look at the key ingredients for each one, and what they’re known for.
In a hurry? Here’s a quick overview.
Best Budget Option: Weleda. Their Sensitive Care Face Cream won’t break the bank and is almost a sure bet. It is super gentle and contains relatively few ingredients. Just enough to convince your skin to stay calm. Also great is that you can conveniently snag a tube on Amazon.
Seriously Soothing Day Cream by Acure
This organic face moisturizer is for dry/sensitive skin. It is the most affordable one on our list ($19.99) and contains Argan oil, Sunflower amino acids, and botanical extracts of some of the most calming and soothing plants.
* Calendula is famous for its healing effect on the skin.
* Chamomile is a wonderful anti-inflammatory and calming on many levels. (Not limited to the skin – chamomile tea is commonly known as a “cure” for nervous tension.)
* Aloe Vera also has some wonderfully calming and soothing properties. It is a staple ingredient in many after-sun skin care products.
Acure combines these healing herbs with a few more great additions for sensitive skin. Acai, pomegranate, and blackberry contain a lot of antioxidants. While they’re often used in anti-aging products, their regenerating effect on skin cells makes them a great choice for sensitive organic face moisturizers as well.
Together with the nourishment of olive oil, argan oil, and shea butter, here’s a lovely concoction of soothing, protecting, and healing plants that will benefit the most sensitive skin types. This moisturizer works best for skin that is on the dryer side.
Amino acids are the building blocks that protein is made of. Certain amino acids can stimulate the skin to produce more elastin and collagen. Amino acids stimulate the skin cells to produce more of those substances and as such support the skin’s natural functions.

Pai The Anthemis Chamomile & Rosehip Calming Day Cream
Pai skin care products are made in the brand’s very own research and development lab. They don’t outsource the creation of their formulas or the production of their cosmetics.
This organic face moisturizer is formulated specifically for very sensitive skin, and skin that may be prone to redness. It is made with only natural ingredients, 78% organic, and the cream contains lots of omegas. This helps repair and regenerate skin cells.
- Azulene and Matricin, two components found in German chamomile extract, are crucial ingredients in Pai’s calming day cream. They have a calming effect on irritated skin.
- Rosehip CO2 extract contains lots of omegas as well as vitamin C and powerful anti-oxidants, all while being gentle enough to use on very sensitive skin.
- Essential oils used are lavender and rose geranium.
Apricot kernel oil, jojoba oil, and Shea butter are the base oils in this cream. Jojoba is especially renowned for its very particular molecular structure, which of all oils, waxes, and kinds of butter is closest to that of our own sebum.
This moisturizer for sensitive skin pairs nicely with the Camellia & Rose Cleanser and the Echium & Argan Gentle Eye Cream.

Instant Kalmer Sea Aster & Schisandra Ceramide Serum
Pai has really gone the extra mile for those with sensitive skin with their Sea Aster & Ceramides Skin Soothing Serum.
Now, I haven’t tried all of Pai’s skincare products, but enough to say this: their stuff is high-end, and it is very, very gentle. Pai skincare is sort of the best-kept secret everyone with sensitive skin should be told about, if you ask me.
And looking at the reviews, this serum is on par with the products I’ve tried so far.
Infused with the calming goodness of Sea Aster, this gentle formula will help you find your zen and restore your skin’s natural balance. And with the added strength of Ceramides, the skin’s barrier will be fortified and protected against further damage.
But that’s not all! This serum also works to prevent redness and irritation caused by rosacea and eczema.
Pai is all about using the best of nature to help your skin feel and look radiant. That’s why their products are made with only vegan, organic, and natural ingredients. You won’t find any of those harsh chemicals here – no parabens, phthalates, artificial colors, dyes, or fragrances.

Herbal facial oil for sensitive skin by Annmarie Gianni
If something unscented is more up your alley, Annmarie Gianni skin care has got you covered. The unscented herbal facial oil is an extra gentle organic face moisturizer that is as natural as they come.
It’s completely free of essential oils because natural ingredients can also be responsible for an allergic reaction (not only synthetic ones). Just because something is natural or plant-based doesn’t mean everyone’s skin will automatically be happy with it.
This organic face moisturizer by Annmarie Gianni is made with healing herbs that are organic or wild-harvested.
- Camellia seed oil, Rosehip seed oil, Sacha inchi oil, and squalene are the key ingredients.
- The infused oil is made with lavender, calendula, and life-everlasting flowers.
- It also contains evening primrose, cranberry, and pomegranate seed oil.
I got into Annmarie Skincare a while back, as a step up from trying out simple, single oils on my face.
Back then, there were these red-ish blotchy patches appearing on my face and while the doctor could tell me what it was (seborrhoeic eczema/dermatitis perioralis) and would toss me a little tube of cortisone cream each time, they were never able to provide any long-term solution.
That’s when I tried something new. I stopped using everything I was using. E v e r y t h i n g. From the face cleanser to moisturizers, masks, makeup, and even concealer. The only thing I used as a moisturizer was oil.
Long story short – it took a few weeks, a couple of months… and then: fixed. The issue went away and never came back. Needless to say, I’ve used only the most natural products since.
Annmarie Skincare is such a brand. Aside from their creations being so close to nature, the concept of facial oils is a revolutionary one. Lemme tell you, once you start using oil as a moisturizer, you’ll get hooked!
Facial oil is also very economical in use since you only need very little. Looking at ingredient lists, notice how often water is (one of) the first ingredients. Lotions and creams are largely made of water. An oil like this one is densely packed with nutrients, so you only need a little bit to give your skin that nutrition and protection.
Ingredients
INCI: Grapeseed Oil, camellia seed oil, rosehip seed oil, herb-infused oil (fractionated coconut oil, *lavender flowers, *calendula flowers, *life everlasting flowers), *evening primrose oil, *squalane [plant sugar derived], *perilla oil, *pomegranate seed oil, *sacha inchi oil, cranberry seed oil, CO2 extracts of sea buckthorn berry and *rosemary.
*Organically grown or wildcrafted
Andalou Naturals Sensitive 1000 Roses Beautiful Day Cream
Andalou Naturals Sensitive 1000 Roses Beautiful Day Cream is a moisturizer that is specifically formulated for sensitive skin. According to the product information available online, it is made with natural and organic ingredients, including alpine rose stem cells, pomegranate, hyaluronic acid, and aloe vera, to soothe, hydrate, and protect the skin.
One of the key ingredients in this cream is alpine rose stem cells, which are extracted from a rare species of rose that is able to survive and thrive in harsh alpine conditions. This ingredient is known for its ability to protect and regenerate skin cells, helping to improve the skin’s overall health and appearance. Pomegranate, another key ingredient, is high in antioxidants and can help to protect the skin from environmental damage.
Hyaluronic acid is also included in this cream and is known for its ability to hydrate and plump the skin. It can help to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, leaving skin looking smooth and youthful. Aloe vera, another key ingredient, is known for its hydrating and healing properties, making it ideal for sensitive skin.
Based on online user reviews, many people find that the Andalou Naturals Sensitive 1000 Roses Beautiful Day Cream effectively moisturizes and hydrates the skin without causing any irritation or breakouts. Some users have also reported that it has improved the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, leaving skin looking smoother and more radiant.
Overall, the Andalou Naturals Sensitive 1000 Roses Beautiful Day Cream seems to be well-received by users with sensitive skin, who appreciate its natural and organic ingredients, as well as its moisturizing and soothing properties. However, as with any skincare product, it is important to keep in mind that individual results may vary and that it is always a good idea to patch-test any new product before applying it to your face.
Weleda Sensitive Care Face Cream
When you’re dealing with sensitive skin, it can be tough to find products that are gentle and effective, while also being low-budget. But it is possible.
I wanted to be sure to add this little gem by Weleda, which I’ve used a lot when living in Europe. Weleda is pretty much the go-to drugstore brand when it comes to natural organic skincare over there.
In the US, this cream is a tad more but still just under $25.
So what is it like? A smooth and gentle daily-use cream, formulated with nourishing almond oil, that moisturizes and calms. It’s fragrance-free and dermatologically tested, so you know it’s gentle and safe to use.
Did you know that the oil inside the tough outer skin of almonds has lipid properties that are perfect for delicate skin? That’s probably why almond oil is a staple in many natural baby skin care products.
Unfortunately for vegans, this cream does contain beeswax. If you are not vegan you’ll be glad to know that Weleda is reputed for its harmonious interaction with people, animals, and plants alike.
Plus, Weleda is certified natural by NATRUE and free from synthetic preservatives, fragrances, colorants, and raw materials derived from mineral oil.
Ingredients
INCI: Water (Aqua), Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Hydrolyzed Beeswax, Prunus Domestica Seed Oil, Glycerin, Xanthan Gum, Lactic Acid.
Conclusion
Remember, taking care of your skin is an investment in your overall health and well-being. And if you have sensitive skin, it’s especially important to use products that won’t cause irritation or discomfort.
So, be sure to do your research, read reviews, and try out a few different products to see what works best for you.
Ideally, trying out means sampling; certain brands make this easier than others. Higher-end natural skincare especially should have a system allowing us to try their concoctions.
Jumping head-first into a relationship with a jar that just set you back close to three digits is – ahem – a bit more of a commitment than I am typically willing (and able) to make.
The next best thing, in the absence of sampling, is an iron-clad return policy. Which is why I try to include that information as it stands at the time of writing.
In conclusion, finding the right natural moisturizer for sensitive skin can be a real challenge, but these natural options are worth exploring. Whether you’re dealing with dryness, tightness, eczema, rosacea, or even mild acne, there’s a moisturizer out there that’s right for you.
