Odacite Black Mint Cleanser Review

odacite review black mint cleanser

This refreshing cruelty-free face cleanser has some spunk. Between the refreshing peppermint essential oil and the charcoal adding a touch of mystery, my first impression was very positive.

Have you noticed the charcoal trend in skincare? What’s that all about? Does the black color have anything to do with how well the cleanser actually works, or is it merely there to give the concoction an elegant vibe?

Purpose of Charcoal

As it turns out, charcoal helps extract impurities from the body and has a similar effect on the skin. It helps suck out dirt, grime and pollution. You may have noticed that we’re seeing more and more of this fascinating ingredient, in toothpaste, deodorant and skincare.

I found that a little of Odacite’s cleanser goes a long way. It has no problem getting rid of both makeup and sunscreen but is gentle enough and not drying.

Promises

This cruelty-free cleanser lives up to its promises big time. I wouldn’t necessarily say it it very matifying, but my skin doesn’t have much of a need for that effect. For the record, others do mention they’ve noticed a matifying effect when using the Black Mint cleanser.

Tough on dirt, check, gentle on the skin and its moisture balance, check, purifying, invigorating and deep cleansing, indeed! It revives and wakes up the complexion and while recommended especially for acne-prone, oily, or normal/combination skin, I don’t think other skin types would not get some benefit from the use of this cleanser. It seems gentle enough for my dryer skin.

Above all, I love the fact that Odacite is a vegan and cruelty-free skincare brand, using natural and organic ingredients (the second as much as possible).

Special mention for skin with acne & blemishes

This cleanser has nothing but very good reviews from people with all sorts of skin types, including sensitive. What does stand out is the amount of reviewers saying it actually helped clear up their breakouts and acne, especially in the long run.

The essential oils of peppermint and tea tree are known for their healing properties on infection/inflammation, so it makes a lot of sense. For acne-prone skin you can use it together with the Bl+C serum concentrate for even better results.

Quick overview

  • Refreshing and purifying, but gentle.
  • Vegan
  • Cruelty-free
  • Delicious invigorating scent
  • Nice lather
  • Much appreciated by users with acne-prone skin; appears to really help clear up breakouts.

Where to find it?

Odacite is a relatively friendly priced cruelty-free skincare brand compared to the big names in conventional luxury skincare brands (all of whom are animal testing offenders). The 100ml bottle goes for $39.

Odacite can be found through Amazon, Nordstrom, the Detox Market, and LoveLula.
