Roses and kombucha are two of my favorite things. Not usually mixed together, though. Pacifica’s Rose Kombucha Flower Powered Face wash is a blend done well, and here is the full review.
Suds and scents
The texture of this face wash is quite runny and I always end up with more in my hand than I really need. It is a gel at first, and with water added foams up to a decent amount of lather. Emphasis on decent: Don’t expect lots of foam and suds here.
Let’s head onto the treaturous terrain of fragrance description.
The rose kombucha face cleanser smells wonderful to me – of course, if you don’t like rose scent this one isn’t a match. Considering the name, it seems unlikely this cleanser wouldn’t attract anyone other than a fan of roses.
The fragrance does seem to have a hint of something else, but without knowing I would not be able to clearly identify it. Pleasant enough – a light, sweet/fresh mix of rose scent with the tingle of kombucha bubbles.
One more thing about the Pacifica Rose Kombucha flower powered face wash
No real complaints about this vegan and cruelty-free face wash: it is widely available off and online, quite affordable and definitely a pleasure to use.
The only thing I’m less taken by is the strength a.k.a potency.
It works very well to wash away makeup and the regular grime of the day (although it needs to be said I do not wear a ton of makeup, not anything waterproof). What it has a harder time with is sunscreen.
Tenacious sunscreen
If you wear a light weight chemical sunscreen lotion (which I don’t use anymore) it should be just fine. Mineral sunscreen of the more natural type (the more greasy ones, the stuff made with vegetable oils, waxes and butters) this cleanser can not handle in one pass.
After time in the sun, I have to wash-rinse-repeat a few times before every part of my face and neck feels clean. Not sure I can hold that against the Rose Kombucha cleanser. The sunscreen I’m currently using is very greasy and sticky and might be too much for any face wash.
Final verdict. Also: happy vegans!
Pacifica is a completely vegan brand by the way, not one with a certain number of vegan products. Ultimetley, the rose kombucha flower powered face wash I would gladly repurchase. In regards to it being no match for the greasy sunscreen mentioned above? Meh – that one will be on its way out sooner rather than later.
